Over at Book Writing Secrets, I’ve posted Week 8 of the Book Writing World’s Plan Your Book course so you can get a sense of the lectures and exercises behind our doors. Go check it out and tell your writer buddies: http://bookwritingsecrets.com
We’ve got some great FREE events coming up as well, including a live online discussion (web conference) on publishing v. self-publishing with a fiction writer and a non-fiction writer who’ve done both, and a one-hour course on Mesmerizing Your Audience when you give a reading. Get on the mailing list (to the right) to keep in the loop.
I’ll be facilitating the first PWW (what’s that? Parents Who Write) Meetup on Monday, Sept. 6, 3:30 – 5 p.m. at Totland Totlot in Berkeley, CA at Virginia and McGee (a few blocks from North Berkeley BART). Yes–bring your kids. That’s why it’s in a park. And come after nap, even if you come late . . . It’s FREE.
The Book Writing World is here to support your writing success, from helping you figure out your best way of writing a book to preparing your for publication and beyond. (My youngest is running around flying Buzz Lightyear, jumping him off the couch, shouting, “To infinity and beyond!”) We work with folks writing books, whether novels, memoirs and narrative non-fiction. We’ve got a few academic books happening here as well. The marathon book writing process we share creates a tight and supportive community who are setting goals, getting motivated and writing books.
If you want to join us, the next round of classes starts Sept. 12, with enrollment during the week prior.
And there will be two Stinson Beach Writing Retreats happening the first weekend of Oct.: A Plan Your Book Intensive and a Writing Retreat. (No–you can’t do both. When would you write?)
Bree LeMaire of San Francisco won Rabih Alameddine’s signed and amazing book The Hakawati and I shipped it off to her yesterday. Next author interview will be with the marvelous Michelle Richmond, coming later this week.
If you are not on the mailing list, sign up now, right to the right, and get advanced news of events as well as discounts and bonuses. And don’t forget to check out that plot video.
Happy writing!
