“Self-Portrait with cropped hair” She wished she could distract him from the others, their perfumes permeating the air, infecting everything she touched or ate or drank; she wished she could wash away their dirt from her own skin; she knew he admired her fierce eyes, the country within her, the way her hair swayed like a curtain in the evening breeze; so she killed the thing he loved and her shears became the weapon; the hair cropped as close as a soldier’s and her waves just a disparate pile of snakes wriggling and writhing on the ground.
I am also doing a "365 day art challenge" (I'm currently on day 147)) and I
was looking up something in my art dictionary when I came across an entry
for Frida Kahlo and her painting "self-portrait with cropped hair"
and it spoke briefly about her stormy relationship with the painter
Diego Rivera.
