Welcome to the BWW!

How do we stop checking email, running errands, staying overtime, collapsing from exhaustion, procrastinating and avoiding . . . and get back to writing? Why, in the immediate moment, do the world’s demands–even a junk email that must be deleted–seem more pressing than the secret passion and hope we’ve been nurturing for years? Maybe nurturing is the wrong word–maybe we haven’t been nurturing it at all. If the encouragement to write came in as frequently and persistently as, say, Viagra spam, we might remember what matters to us and respond not with an email but with words on the blank page that represents a larger audience. Readers!

The role of the Book Writing World is to create a space and an urgency for your writing. A life dream can be eclipsed by a garbage bill. You know it can. I know it, too. But when you come each week and say to a group of other passionate writers and readers, this is what I am going to accomplish, and then you come back the next week and report on how it went, getting support and applause, gentle nudges or, when needed, that “giant kick in the *ss” one of my survey respondents requested–something changes. Writing takes its proper place.
As important, you are given a path for writing your book. How do you plan it? How do you pull those fleeting ideas and images into effective notes and then onto the page, into a pile of pages, a manuscript, a book? My series of courses takes you step-by-step through the whole process, from hope or a vague idea to a clearly plotted and planned story to a written manuscript to a revised and polished book that’s ready to go out into the world. And then we make sure you know every last detail about how to get it to the world, who to send it to, what to say, how to find your book its publisher and its place. Jump in at whatever course matches the stage in your book’s progress.
I know that financially, times are tough for everybody. Support for your life dream is not as cheap as a Viagra ad and isn’t covered by your health insurance! But that doesn’t mean it isn’t necessary, life-sustaining and valuable. Our research shows that almost every other class out there–online or in-person–costs more for fewer weeks, and many are not taught by published writers. But we are going to go further and offer you our biggest discount for the first week of registration (starting tomorrow). Instead of $447 for 12-weeks, we are going to offer you more than 25% off: $330 for 12-weeks (or pay monthly at $132). But these low rates are only available this week; on Wednesday, Sept. 15, the prices go up to our regular (still low) rates, and enrollment ends–the doors close–the week after that. But really, do you want to keep putting off your book in favor of writing emails and deleting spam?

When you sign up for one of the courses
Plan Your Book (plotting and preparation for writing);
Draft Your Book (getting a complete manuscript down on the page–or the 300 pages);
Revise Your Book (take that rough draft and turn it into the kind of book you love to read) or
Finish Your Book (take that revised version and get it ready to go into the hands of agents and editors)–
by Thursday, Sept. 16, you will get two bonuses for FREE:

An online Motivation and Goals Course, taught by the spectacular Angie Powers, that will rev your writing motor and get you going. This includes a weekly chat on Monday mornings (also happening in a forum format if you can’t make the live real-time conference). Commit to and declare your goals publicly. You’ll also be given the tools to make your future goals into your past achievements.

An in-person Weekend Writing Retreat at Stinson Beach, CA, Oct. 2 & 3 (come to one or both days, free); two tracks: Plot and Plan Your Book OR Write Up a Storm. One block from the beach. Room & board not included.
There will be a one-day online writing retreat–morning check-in and exercises and then video conference check-ins throughout the day. A powerful way to balance community and solitude and write a ton. Dates TBA.
Claim your space in the Book Writing World. Invest in what truly matters to you. Join an international community of dedicated and wonderful writers who truly care about each other and each other’s success. The first five people to sign up for the BWW will be entered into drawing just among you five to win a month of private coaching or a special editing offer. The coaching is a 45 minute planning session, weekly 15-minute check-ins and regular email contact. But the truth is, being in the BWW is like having me as your private coach; so instead of coaching, you may choose to have me edit up to 10,000 words of your manuscript with a half-hour consultation (value: $250). You choose. Again, the winner of this bonus will be drawn from the first five to enroll.

And if the Book Writing World turns out not to for you? Full money-back guarantee. You have nothing to lose but the obstacles that keep you from writing.
I look forward to working with you and watching your books grow.
