Interview with Jacqueline Luckett

Feb 27, 2011 | Featured, podcast

The marvelous Jacqueline Luckett was a student of mine many years ago. Now she’s a published author with a two book contract with a MAJOR New York publisher! Here we talk about writing under contract v. writing that first book when you don’t know if it will sell. We talk about writing groups, motivation and why African-American women authors who write commercial fiction will always be compared to Terry McMillan! Jackie’s first novel, Searching for Tina Turner, a book about the adventure of finding yourself in the middle of your own life and that takes us from Oakland to Paris, is available now in paperback.
